Dror
Baron: More in DC (6.2001)
There were some sights for sore eyes at the
conference itself.
Before the conference, the well known Tsachy
Weissman, known fondly by his nickname TV,
had claimed "party in DC, TV and DB".
It turned out that he was busy chatting up his
wife on the phone, while Michael Tuechler
and I did the touring.
-
The King
(June 2001).
 |
The day after I saw G. W. Bush, I got to
see a statue of the real King, Elvis himself :-)
(Hirshorn Museum).
-
Some waterfowl
(June 2001).
 |
The US is reported to be a free country,
and Washington is its capital, so these
guys were out enjoying their civil rights.
-
Old hardware
(June 2001).
 |
The rocket on the left is a V2.
The structure on the right is a copy
of Skylab (National Air and Space Museum).
-
The Spirit of St. Louis
(June 2001).
 |
The youngsters among us didn't see this
machine make the first trans-Atlantic flight.
-
Some guy touring DC
(June 2001).
 |
This is Michael, next to the Capitol.
-
Another guy at the conference
(June 2001).
 |
This is TV. With the halo above his head,
I wonder if he should have been called Angel.
-
Train station
(June 2001).
 |
Michael Tuechler and I decided to tour
the city on Friday afternoon.
We entered the train station for food,
and also appreciated its architecture.
-
Michael on the lawn
(June 2001).
