Baron: New Hampshire (4.2001)
Nearing the end of the semester, I decided
to visit my cousin Opher and his wife Iris
in Boston. Fortunately the weather in Boston
was warm enough to stroll alongside the
Charles river in short clothing, while in
New Hampshire, despite being April 22,
and well above the freezing point,
the snow was still around...
And that's what we'll see right now!

The preparation

We decided to drive North. We had jackets
just in case, but the weather in Boston had
definitely been balmy. Opher had to prepare
himself upon leaving the automobile for
a hike in the snow.

This is one of the first things that we saw on
the way up the mountain. Snow, mountains,
tranquility.

I for one had thought that the snow wouldn't
be too bad. Little had I mentally prepared
for knee-deep conditions.

Due to the relatively warm
weather, the snow was melting.

There was lots of water melting, and several
minor streams, but at some point we heard something.
Opher and Iris were tired from the long walk up
and down the mountain, but your vigorous servant
walked over to check out the action, and came
across this lovely site.
